I’ve experienced despair, hope, loss, and joy, hope & vitality in life.
Working with persons with mental health needs for the past number of years, my life’s work includes over three decades of University work, academic advising, research and teaching internationally, volunteerism, various certifications, experiences in hospitals, hospice, recovery groups, religious settings, jails, forensic work, and international work within indigenous cultural settings.
My work involves persons with severe and persistent mental health issues who may be experiencing major disruptions in housing or legal needs alongside work I also engage with accomplished professionals who work as doctors, lawyers, wealth-fund managers, entrepreneurs, laboratory specialists or technology experts.
I have specialized training as a Professional Life Master Coach and University Certification as a Peace & Conflict Negotiator and Certification in Leadership Education.
My primary means of caring for people involving helping people work toward solutions for their existence by understanding how to accept their life while shifting toward new commitments aligned to their primary values.
In order to best help persons in need, I continually study, research & receive new training.
I have been certified a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and as a Certified Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional (CAIMHP) and as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS).
I’ve been trained by the International Association with oversight for Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing to provide EMDR Therapy.
I am Gottman Institute Trained Level 1 & Level 2 Certified Couples Therapist. I serve as a Facilitator for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples. And I have clinical practice training for Social & Emotional Learning.
I’ve been awarded International and National fellowships and research grants.

I am licensed to work independently in the States of Colorado, Idaho and Washington and my work in Oregon is facilitated under the supervision of the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors & Therapists, with direct Supervision by Zoe Pearson, LPC C1026, NCC 34422 and Denise Pierson, LPC C3333.
